Pelican feeding is conducted daily at
The Entrance,
Memorial Park from 3.30pm. A special area has
been built where the pelicans gather each
afternoon, waiting to be fed fish donated by the
local fish shop. This gives the feeding officers
an opportunity to treat any injured birds. The
pelicans often get injured from swallowing fish
hooks, getting tangled up in fishing line and
swallowing plastic bait bags. There is an
educational talk given with plenty of
opportunities to ask questions and take photos.
The pelicans are also fed daily on
Brisbane Waters from 3.00pm at the
Fisherman’s Wharf in Woy Woy.
